Around the time I shifted from doing UX hands-on to overseeing UX work I picked up a camera. I still felt the need to make something. Lucky for me photography goes great with most of my other favorite pastimes like traveling, live shows and hanging with the fam.

Discovering a new city through the lens of a camera or simply capturing a familiar place in a new light is a favorite pastime of mine.

If I could change careers for a day, I’d want to be a music photographer. It blends two of my favorite things, though I suspect doing it for longer than that might ruin both of them for me.

Whether it’s learning a new lighting technique or just stumbling onto something unexpected, shooting inanimate objects is something I love to do because you can really take your time to get it right.
Animals
The right place at the right time with the right framing makes all the difference when it comes to photographing animals. My reject pile for this category is littered with so many shots that were a split second too late.
